New Emergency Contraceptive pills database launched
May 2025. The European Consortium for Emergency Contraception (ECEC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new open-access Emergency Contraceptive (EC) pills database, now live at https://www.ec-ec.org/emergency-contraception-pills-database.
This global resource offers country-level data on the availability of levonorgestrel (LNG), ulipristal acetate (UPA), and mifepristone EC pills. Users can search by region, country, pill type, or brand. With over 350 entries to date—and more being added—the database aims to support the reproductive health and rights community with reliable, up-to-date information.
The project was developed in collaboration with the American Society for Emergency Contraception and supported by PSI/CIFF.
We value your feedback and welcome contributions to help expand and refine this tool. If you have data to share, please contact us at cpuig@eeirh.org or fill out this survey.
